Secure your home because burglars like presents too.
Each year our cities glow with rows of apartments stuffed with presents like garlands of stockings hanging on mantels. These are the sugar plum visions that dance in the heads of expert burglars. This year reports of Christmas gift burglaries have already begun and are expected to only get worse as Christmas draws near. To ward of these grinches, Simplisafe is releasing a Starter Kit package of its apartment security system, helping apartment renters and owners keep their gifts where they belong, under the tree. The new package is $199.99 and makes it easy to give--or get--peace of mind this holiday season.
SimpliSafe launches this new package in remembrance of the Christmas burglary in 2005 that inspired our founders, husband and wife team-Chad and Eleanor Laurans, to design the SimpliSafe Apartment Security System.
“Two days before Christmas our friend’s apartment was broken into and over $1000 worth of Christmas gifts for her family and friends were stolen. She couldn’t afford to replace the gifts, so she had to go to local discount stores so she’d at least have something to give her family that year, ” says CEO of SimpliSafe, Chad Laurans. “When she looked into getting a home security system, she found expensive and permanently installed systems with long-term contracts. We all realized that apartment dwellers really didn’t have any good home security options.”
The Holiday Starter Kit is offered at just $199.99 and monthly monitoring service is just $14.99/month. Don’t get grinched this year! Secure your apartment because burglars like presents too.

3. My personal fave! Crooks could not ruin Christmas. This one made my heart swell three times it's original size. Unscrupulous burglars stole $1000 worth of gifts meant for tots at Wichita toys for tots. But citizens and local businesses, as well as government officials chipped in to save the day. Whoville in action!
