Does the alarm reset after a trigger?
We had a motion sensor alarm tonight at our place, it was a cat who got up on a bookshelf. We were not home. Dispatch called police, police came and did a perimeter check, windows/doors, and looked inside to see nothing disturbed.
When we arrived home about 20 minutes later, we walked in and the alarm notified us that there was a recent alarm. From the time the false alarm was triggered, till the time we walked in, were the other sensors still active? Meaning, if someone had opened a window, AFTER the police left doing their perimeter check, would the alarm system have triggered another call?
Or did the alarm go into a "wait state" kind of and just wait for someone to reset it manually?
Thanks!
If your keypad did not start
If your keypad did not start beeping when you entered your home it was in a "wait state". I had to contact customer service and ask them for the directions to get my system to reset itself after an alarm. I had a similar situation as you.
That's not good. The keypad

So if....
... a motion sensor triggers a false alarm.
... police show up, do a perimeter check. We are not home.
... the unit goes into a "wait state" and the system is NOT active/working until manually reset?
That's really not good.

@shawn
This is typical of alarm systems to have manual reset required. If you'd like we can enable automatic rearm for your system, just let us know.

Is this something you can do
Is this something you can do automatically? The reason I ask is I am planning on taking a trip and i'm wondering what would happen if it went off and I wasn't able to go home to reset it? Would it just be in wait mode until I return from my trip? Or can you reset it automatically if I informed you to?
@hwnnights You can absolutely
@hwnnights
You can absolutely set up automatic re-arm when you install by downloading the update. We do not ship the systems with this ability as they're self-installed and you don't want to install a system and get a repeated false alarm over the first few days. Once you're used to using the system and your sensors are acting as they should, we provide the update and you're good to go!

You won't need the automatic rearm download to arm and disarm remotely with the new Base Station

I tried to download the update to have the alarm auto reset, it said there is no new update. Can you make my system auto reset? Is there any down side to auto reset I am not thinking of such as multiple false alarms etc??? Also I activated my alarm last Wednesday and this is Sunday and still in Practice mode, is because of the weekend or is there a problem??
Thanks

@devrep
Thanks for posting! The 'Practice Mode' status stays on your account until we do a manual review of the account the business day after you go live with the dispatchers. The 'go-live' date is 72 hours after you activate your service online as long as we're receiving signals and have the correct dispatch information and is automatic, however we do the manual review to ensure there will not be problems with the account going forward.
Weekend activations are done on Monday--so your account should correctly report the active status as long as we do not find any indicators that the account needs updating.

Thanks for posting! I will prepare the upgrade for you and send you an email with the instructions! Keep in mind, you want to make sure you are not experiencing any false alarms, as auto-rearm can could cause multiple false alarms in a day.

The automatic rearm is something we are going to need also as we travel 3 months at a time. Could you prepare the upgrade for me also? The way I have my system setup, it should be rare to get a false alarm when we are gone. Thanks.
