Alarm Sound Question
Posted May 1st, 2010 by coolio
I am definitely getting one of these. I don't care if my apartment get's broken into and things get stolen. What I care about is my inside cat getting out and I never get to see him again. I am getting the alarm because it will greatly decrease the chance of a burglar ever coming. However, I really don't want a loud siren noise if it ever happens because it will freak out my cat and cause him to run out even quicker. Instead, can a voice warning be given? Or can the alarm be set to go off for only a minute? I plan on buying the monitoring service also.

Yes, the alarm volume can be
Yes, the alarm volume can be decreased to a low setting and the duration can be set to as short as 30 seconds. With those settings it shouldn't bother your cat, but should be enough for you to be aware if you ever trip the alarm by accident.

Would it be possible to have
Would it be possible to have a system update created so that, instead of a siren, an MP3 sample of Rebecca Black's "Friday" could be played? This way the dispatch center could just call the coroner to come collect the body of whoever it was that broke into my house!
