Any wireless interference?
Posted June 1st, 2012 by christcorp
I know that the Simplisafe system is completely wireless; as well as the dialer being pseudo cellular. Has anyone noticed any wireless frequency interference with 2.4ghz or 5.8ghz that most people use for home networks; WIFI; cordless phones; microwave ovens; etc...? Or just as important, has anyone noticed the reverse; e.g. their wireless home network or cordless phones have issues now they've installed a SimpliSafe home alarm system?

Not in any meaningful way. I have an rf sniffer operating full time and have a whole bunch of wireless technologies operating across pretty much every frequency band. SS tx/rcv works on 2 basic band, one for sensor/keypad/siren and a higher frequency for the cell module. While I have had plenty of problems with the syetm, rf interference from "other" devices has not been an issue. (thankfully).

Yes, I have Apple AirPlay and Sonos in addition to my Wifi and have been having trouble communicating between my Wifi devices since the security system was put in place. I'd like to understand more about the particular frequencies of the security system and if there are different settings I can have on my wireless WIFI devices. I've tried changing the channels on my router and network extenders but it doesn't seem to help. A bit disappointed. I'm not sure whether I'm keeping the system.
