motion sensors

hi i'm interested in simplisafe security system and am trying to figure out how many motion sensor to get. i'm just curious if the motion sensor can sense through walls considering its a thermal motion sensor, if so it would save me some money on buying less motion sensor because my home got alot of small room walled up against each other within the 30 feet range with alot of windows. Quick simple answer is fully appreciated.
