Ryan K, need your expertise
I Recently received and installed my system, I love it but have a few issues. First, there is absolutely no tmobile coverage at my residence, it is spotty in nearby communities but nothing here.I was told on the phone that tmobile is the only option yet I've read a few posts where Ryan K has mentioned other options such as Skytel, USA Mobile, and US Mobility. Also several people have mentioned exchanging the tmobile base for an AT&T equipped base station. Is an AT&T unit available? or any others? I would like to have the security of not having to worry about my phone or broadband lines being cut.
Second, although the system is connected to the landline and I have activated the monitoring service, sent the test signal which was confirmed by dispatch, when I check my account online it shows an alert that I need to send a test signal. I was told this should go away but it hasn't. Also , there are no events found and I am receiving no text or email notifications at all. I was told that because I was using the landline that the events would take 20-30 minutes to post to my account......... Ryan K (or someone more knowledgeable than the phone customer service) can you please help me?????
Thank you in advance,
Greg

Thanks for posting! We do offer USA Mobility and Skytel along with our primary cell provider T-Mobile! AT&T modules were a trial run using their service but we can no longer offer it to customers. As for your events log, the signals go directly to our monitoring service and they post them back to your account. Since you were in your 'Practice Mode', those signals do not get posted back. However, any signals that come through when you are 'Active' with the monitoring will be posted back in about 20 to 30 minutes. Also, the only Smart Alerts you can receive over the phone line are Alarm Events, all others must go through over the cellular network. If you are still experiencing a 'No Link to Dispatcher' message after plugging into a phone line, contact our customer support line and I'm sure we can solve your issue!

Ryan, thank you so much for
Ryan, thank you so much for the information.
My alarm status still shows a "Red Question Mark" instead of a "Green Check Mark" and states
"Alarm Status
We have not received a test signal from you recently. Please test your system and contact us if this message remains."
I will call customer service as soon as they open for business in a few minutes and try again to get this resolved.
As for the events log, once they start posting (in about 20 to 30 minutes after the event) will only actual alarms be posted or all activity such as when the system has been armed or disarmed?
I would like to receive the "smart alerts" (other wise there is no reason to pay the additional amount each month just for alarm "events" as the monitoring service will call me anyway) so my next question is, do "smart alerts" work with the Skytell and USA Mobility you mentioned and how do I get my system changed to one of them assuming they work in my area? I would really like the security of the cellular service and to know my wife is protected in my absence.
Thank you again for your help, We do love the system, just want to work out the "alarm status" issue and if at all possible, get cellular coverage.
Thanks again,
Greg
After contacting customer
After contacting customer service again this morning, my "Status" issues have been resolved, Thank you!
Also, I found out that Skytell coverage may be an option for my area. Skytel's maps of actual coverage for my residence are a little sketchy but a Skytell compatible module is now on the way to me, to try in my base unit,....again, Thank You!
For those of you considering using the system strictly on a landline, understand that you will not be able to receive text alerts for all of your activity, only actual alarms and test signals. Therefore without cellular coverage, the "smart alerts" plan is pointless. I am hoping the Skytel module provides coverage for me so that I can receive the "smart alerts"
I learned that the Skytel and USA Mobility are paging system networks and that as pagers become less popular, more areas will lose this coverage. Even if Skytel works for me when i get the new module, it may not in a few months. Hopefully tmobile moves into the area or Simplisafe offers other cellular options like Verizon or AT&T in the near future.
I hope this may help someone else with similar questions about coverage options.
Thanks again to Ryan K and the person who assisted me this morning, (I missed his name... Shaun perhaps?)
