Any way to identify Which Sensor was tripped?

Got a false alarm from a motion sensor today, but I have no idea which one. Just installed the system two days ago, so this is obviously a problem. I don't know if it was caused by my small dog or the heater coming on. Is there a better way to identify/troubleshoot sensors other than disabling all of them and slowly enabling over time and hoping for a false alarm again?

Also, how can I extend my practice period? My system is obviously not ready for prime time yet.

Thanks for posting! A small pet that gets close enough to the motion sensor can trip it and the stream of warm air from vents can also set them off. Anything that changes temperature in front of the motion can trigger an alarm. A tip for your pet can be to turn the motion sensor upside-down and install it at about 4 ft, and your pet can wonder underneath the 4 ft line and never trip it. As for forced air vents, you can try closing or slightly closing the vents in the view of the motion and this will disperse the air more rather than a straight plume of air that can resemble a person to a motion sensor.

You can check which sensor triggered using the following instructions:

1) Sync your Keychain Remote with the Base Station to secure the most recent set of data
2) Plug your Keychain Remote into your computer and load the Easy Setup Wizard software
3) From the main menu, go to 'Help'
4) From Help navigate to 'Troubleshooting' and then 'Recent Alarms'

To extend practice mode, contact our customer service line at 1.888.957.4675 can we would be happy to do that for you.

Is there anyway to rename the

Is there anyway to rename the entry? If i'm home and an entry goes off i don't know if it is the front door or the garage door. Plugging in the usb stick is not going to help me in the middle of the night. This will also allow us to know what has been tripped by the keypad. Currently it just says 1 entry open, not being able to tell which one is annoying.

Thanks for posting! On the current Base Station you cannot rename sensors, however this option will be available on the new Base Station! To figure out which sensor is reporting open, follow these steps:

1) Sync your Keychain Remote with the Base Station to secure the most recent set of data
2) Plug your Keychain Remote into your computer and load the Easy Setup Wizard software
3) From the main menu, go to 'Help'
4) From Help navigate to 'Troubleshooting' and then 'Entry Sensor Open’
5) You will notice a white box with the sensor number on the right hand side, this is the sensor reporting open.\

Find the sensor with that serial number and if it is closed, open it and close it again to resend the 'closed' signal and it should clear the error!

I just ordered my base

I just ordered my base station today. Will I get the new base station?

everytime i set my alarm I

everytime i set my alarm I get the error message warning door or window open but nothing is open. I know its because of the way my door panel is made that i can't get the two senors close enough to stop the error message but it still works, if the entry sensor was flatter then it wouldn't be a problem. any suggestions. Thanks

So the new base station

So the new base station allows you to assign a name / designation to entry sensors (like 'front door', 'living room window', etc. )?

If so, that is great! That would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Matt

The new web interface (if you

The new web interface (if you subscribe) is where you can name the sensors, but, the names only are used in the text messages/e-mail sent out to your phone. The keypad still only shows the basic sensor message.

You might have missed it

You might have missed it however you can only name sensors if you are using the 24.95 plan not the 14.95 plan.

For now the only real advantage of SS2 for me are the extra Keypads, if and when other sensors.. such as fire, smoke, glass break are available, hard to justify the added monitoring expense.

I replaced my ADT with SS1. I

I replaced my ADT with SS1. I got my SS1 yesterday and found that it is not able to tell me which sensor is open. This is a basic feature in ADT and am used to it telling me that the Master Bedroom Window or whatever is open when I arm the house. SS1 just says "1 Entry Sensor Alarm" or something like that - I need to go around the house to find out which one. This, to me clearly is a lack of functionality. I moved to SimpliSafe because the monitoring is cheaper than ADT. Now telling me that I need to move to SS2 with a monitoring fees at almost the ADT level would be my solution, sure looks like a B&S for me. The SS alarm system is great though.
