base station beeping
I got my system last night and set it up. One thing I noticed is if I arm the alarm via the remote in away mode and I trip the alarm via a motion sensor, half the time my base station starts beeping along with the keypad. My keypad is next to my front door and my base station is on an end table in my living room about 8 feet away.
EDIT: I think I figured it out. My mistake. The bonging I was hearing was coming from the external siren which I installed in my stairwell (which is near the front door) I had to get my wife to stick her ear near the base station when I was testing it. So I'm glad this thing is fixed :)
One last thing I can't figure out is my setup came with 2 "keychains" One is the USB one that I use for programming and the other one is slightly smaller. It turns out the smaller one doesn't do anything when I press the buttons. I see one keychain remote in my system setup. Is this the USB one or is this the keychain one? I'm wondering if the wrong serial # was put in for the keychain remote because I had 2 incorrect sensors in my setup when I was setting it up. If this is the case, where do i get the serial number from the keychain?
Thanks!

Thanks for posting! If your Base Station is making a 'bong' noise during the entry delay countdown along with your keypad beeping, it is due to the fact that your Base isn't receiving confirmation back from the keypad when a sensor is tripped. It may be the proximity of your Base to your keypad. Try increasing the distance slightly to make the distance between the two about 12 feet. Also, make sure that your Base Station is not located on the floor and not near any electronics such as a television, wireless router, or computer as these types of things can cause signal issues. If this continues, contact our customer support line and I am sure we can help!

No luck on moving the base
No luck on moving the base station further away. The keypad seems to be communicating with the base station but also says it's out of range (I think it's communicating because punching in my pin seems to disable the system.) I can try moving it closer I suppose but it seems kinda hokey that you'd need the hub of the system so close to the keypad which is usually right next to the front door.

Thanks for posting back! Glad to hear you solved your issue! The extra sirens will give your entry delay beeps at the same time as the keypad. As for your keychain remote, the serial number can be found underneath the battery cover. Slide the portion with the SimpliSafe logo towards the cap (after the cap is removed) and it will release the cover exposing the battery and the sensor number!
