Internet option

I have been having a lot of issues with my base station. I get the dreaded "no link to dispatch" message on my keypad and the blinking blue on the base station. Sometimes the system works as it should then other times I get this problem. Where my house is located I get poor cellular service. I don't know if you all could try some of the other cellular carriers to see if I get a better signal or not. The only good thing when this issue happens is the alarm will sound if an entry sensor is triggered. The bad thing is that no police will be called but if I am home and wake from the siren I can protect myself at that point. However, if I am not home then the bad guys can do what they came for.

Now on another note. I noticed in reading through the forum that the "no link to dispatch" appears to be a big issue for lots of us Simplisafe owners. I post mention using an Internet connection and that it was $59 and had to be ordered through you.

"That said, in some rare cases, cell reception is lower than we'd like and at those times we recommend using a phone line or internet connection as a backup. The internet connection does require purchasing a broadband adapter from us ($59). "

If there is this option why it it not listed with the accessories we can purchase from your site? Also will this option fix the problem of "no link to dispatch" and provide 100% coverage for the alarm system? (of course I understand that there would have to be an active internet connection)

I have only a VOIP phone line and I have tried to use it. Although my VOIP works perfectly fine the base station seems to have an issues using it. After I fought with it this morning trying to get it to successfully dial out and use the phone I then disconnect the phone line from the base after it finally worked but it took over an hour fighting with it. It dialed two 800 numbers (actually an 877 and an 866) over and over without success. I turned on my handset for my phone a couple of times and could here the number ringing many times without it being answered on the other side. It did eventually answer and set it's information but it took a lot of effect on my part.

Some have suggest a name change to SimpliFlakey but I might suggest it feels more like SimpliUnSafe.

I hope someone can help with a solution for this problem. I would hate to come home one evening and find that I have been robbed with my base station setting there flashing blue and "no link to dispatch" on the keypad. Or worst yet come home and into the house only to meet face to face with a bad guy.

Instead of coming up with

Instead of coming up with stupid names for the system, send it back. You answered your own question when you said that you have poor cell reception and no dedicated landline ( which last time i checked were the basics that the simplisafe system was designed around ) .... your wasting your time and i feel a little stupid(er) for taking the time to read your complaint about the obvious. It doesnt work for you.. shutup and send it back.

Squeoche you should mind your

Squeoche you should mind your own business.

I posted what I did because of problems with this service. Others who may be deciding to try this service should know that many people have this issue. My unit has been working for the last 9 months or so in the exact same location. It's you people who think they know what others should do that shows your ignorance.

May the potential buyers of this product and service beware of potentially suffering with the sae issues.

As for you I think you ought to shut up and keep your opinion to yourself. No one is interested in you two cents.

Prudently, no official comment/answer on this waste of time question/conversation. All three of us need to get a life. Although I'm just researching, there's no need for me to be typing this....and this...

This system relies on a

This system relies on a cellular signal. If you can't get a good signal, it's not the fault of the product. You have 90 days to send it back.....send it back.....

Good luck with the other companies. :) LOL They will rape you with fees and the fine prints......

Wait....there's another

Wait....there's another reason why it is not working. It is possible that your base has a "sim chip" that it is trying to talk to the wrong cel provider.

Have you called SimpliSafe? They may be able to send you out a different module .
