No monitoring-base constantly flashes

As Ryan describes below, To disable the monitoring feature, so the Base Station no longer believes a 'disconnected' state is an error, you will need to contact SimpliSafe customer support over the phone so we can prepare a download for you. Give us a call anytime Monday - Friday from 9AM to 6PM and we'll be more than happy to help!

We currently do not have monitoring, since it was cancelled "No Link to Dispatch" flashes constantly on the keypad & the base unit continiuosly flashes, I'm assuming to alert me that there is no monitoring. However due to that continious flashing I can no longer tell when an external door is opened. We have the audible door alert turned off due to having a newborn & dogs that insist on barking every time the chime goes off. Is there a way to update the settings for the base station to only flash when a door is open even though we aren't having the system professionally monitored? The light going off gives me time to tell my dogs to not bark at family members coming in if our newborn is asleep.

You can't have it both ways. No matter what the PR is, the system was designed to be monitored. The close base I the microprocessor doesn't recognize not monitored as anything but a " fault " situation and blinks the silly blue light.

Thanks for posting! The download most are referring to in this forum, is a software update that removes monitoring from your system meaning it will not send any signals. Your Base Station light flashes when the system has an error message, and right now the system would be displaying a 'No Link to Dispatcher' because no service has been activated. So if you plan on activating your service this week, the blue light will stop flashing once you are able to send a test signal, about 20 minutes after you activate the service. Another download would be necessary in order to reinstate the monitoring on the system. You can also disable the blue light in the Easy Setup Wizard on your keychain remote in the 'Advanced Settings' portion of the 'Adjust Settings' menu. For further information on this download, instructions, or advice, give our customer support line a call and I am sure they can help!

As for your siren questions, the batteries are 4 regular AA batteries and typically last about a year to two years depending on use. It will also warn you when the batteries are low by issuing a series of beeps every time your arm and disarm. The siren is going to be listening for the arm and disarm signals as it does not communicate directly with the Base. So making sure the siren is in range by mounting it as close to the Base or Keypad as possible is best. Exterior walls can have an effect on the sirens ability to pick up the signal so testing it out in the location you decide is a good idea. Make sure it starts the countdown when you trigger a sensor (the siren will issue the same beeps as the Keypad) and also making sure it silences when the system is disarmed. If you have issues, contact our customer support and I'm sure we can help you out!
