Love the system...2 suggestions to make it perfect for me.

I really appreciate the fantastic customer support combined with the ease of install. There are two things that would really add to the flexibility of the system.

First, the option to have a delay in the Home mode activation would be useful when one of us leaves in the morning before the other. It would be great to be able to activate the home alarm as I leave in the morning without forcing my spouse to get up and reset the alarm.

Second, while a motion sensor can be programmed to trip the alarm only when in Away mode, there is no option to keep it restricted to Home mode. Perhaps this isn't a common request but due to an odd work situation this option would be very helpful.

For anyone who is on the fence and reading this thread for informational purposes, give SimpliSafe a try. My system replaced another "Easy Install" alarm I had used for quite some time and I have to say the quality and flexibility of SimpliSafe are leaps and bounds above the competition.

Thanks for the kind words

Thanks for the kind words and the useful feedback. We will definitely take this into consideration. In the mean time, here's a trick for arming your system in the Home mode while leaving your home:

1) While your system is off, open your door.
2) Press "home" -- SimpliSafe will turn on in the home mode and warn you that a door is open. For the moment, that door will not be protected (don't worry, though, there won't be a false alarm).
3) When you leave, just close the door behind you. The system will then automatically start protecting that door.

The only thing to be careful of with this trick is that you open the door first before leaving. If you open the door after pressing "home", and leave while the Keypad is beeping, the alarm will go off about 30 seconds later.

I'm afraid I don't have as helpful a trick for your second request. You're right that it does not seem to be a common use case. One thing you could do is put the Motion Sensor on a shelf and manually turn it around to face the wall when you don't want it to detect motion. Of course, you then have to remember to turn it back around to face the room when you do want to use it, and if you have to do this frequently it will become a hassle. If you only need to do this rarely, it might work for you. I'll let you know if we come up with anything else.

Best,
Chad
