24 hours after installation

It's been 24 hours since we installed our alarm system. Installing it was a breeze! Everything worked perfectly. I was at work this morning when I was alerted that a motion sensor went off, triggering the alarm. I have a 20 lb. dog that I didn't think could trigger the motion sensor. Wrong. I instantly received a text message, then shortly after, received a call from the alarm dispatch center checking to see if everything was okay or did they need to dispatch a police officer. Since I wasn't home to know for sure, I told them it had to be my dog and to not dispatch anyone. When I got home 2 hours later, everything was fine. I am making the decision to return the motion sensors because of this incident and from reading some of the forum topics, I am finding that most false alarms are caused by motion sensors. We bought the motion sensors mainly to cover two windows that were only glass. The new Simplisafe system is due out in March, which will include glass breaking sensors. We will go that route. With a motion sensor, a person would have to already be in your home to trigger the alarm. The glass breaking one will trigger at the sound of breaking glass. Overall, we are very satisfied with the system, dispatchers and Simplisafe. I sent an email to Simplisafe about returning the motion sensors and they responded very quickly, as well as making it simple for me to return them. They also gave me other venues to try out with the motion sensors to see if we could avoid them being triggered by my dog. Great customer service!!!
