Home Mode Only option

I would like to request that an option for sensors to be used only in Home mode be added. Currently a sensor can be set to home and away or just away but not just home. I use motion sensors to cover the areas of my home which have large sliding glass doors, and, contrary to other claims, my 15 pound dog will set them off. I would therefore like an option to have the motion sensors available only in home mode and disabled in away mode. This way when I go to sleep and the dog is with us in the bedroom locked away I can put the system into home mode and the motion sensors can cover the rest of the house, and when we are out and the dog is loose in the home I can put it on away mode and the motion sensors can be disabled and only the door sensors activated. I do not understand the reasoning for not programming this option into the settings, but I sure would like it to be added. It may not fit everyone's usage pattern, but certainly it will fit others besides mine and it seems like such a simple bit of code to write.

Are there any plans for adding this option?

Thanks for posting! We unfortunately do not have this setting currently in the works. However, it sounds like you could arm your system in AWAY at night and HOME when you are out of the house. This would accomplish the settings your looking for. Just remember, to leave in HOME mode, you must open the door you are going to leave through, arm in HOME, then walk out and close the door, and the sensor on that door will arm when you close it! Alternatively, you can try readjusting your motions to reduce the false alarms. One trick is to flip the motions upside down at about 4 feet. This changes the view so anything under the 4 foot line will not be picked up by the motion sensor!

Thanks for posting! The motion sensors can be configured for HOME AND AWAY MODES and AWAY MODE ONLY so you can have a motion sensor armed in HOME MODE. The configuration that cannot be done is to set the motion senors for HOME MODE ONLY. As stated in the previous post, you can arm the system in AWAY MODE while you are home to have the motion sensors active!

Thanks for posting! We will see if there is anything we can do to accommodate this now but it will most likely have to be something we consider for the future as I do not believe this is something we could change with a simple software update. You could potentially switch the uses of your modes. Use the AWAY mode for when your home to set things to AWAY MODE ONLY and use the HOME mode when you leave.
