"Keep it simple stupid" is an old expression. It comes from the fact that people generally make things more complicated than they need to be. With that said... The people at SimpliSafe must have been quite aware of that expression, as that is exactly what they did at an affordable price.

Previously, when my mother-in-law stayed with us we got a system from a major company who will remain nameless. On top of the initial charges (around $150) it cost us $42.99 a month for 3 years. The system consisted of 1 motion detector 2 door sensors 1 panic button and a base station. Not any real protection at all. Once the contract was over, I decided on a "Do It Yourself" system. Another $400 down the drain and my homeowners insurance went up as they only give discounts for monitored systems.

I went online and looked at what 1 company offered.

A Control system
Monitored service
1 Flood OR Carbon monoxide detector
2 Door/Window sensors
1 motion sensor

Now figure up how many doors & windows that you need to protect and how many areas you want motion sensed. Once you figure that out. Add it to your cost because you will have to buy those items.

I bought a custom built system for $439 that's $161 LESS than that other company wants for installation.
AND I HAVE:
Not 2 but 12 door/window sensors.
Not 1 motion sensor but 4.
Plus Panic buttons, Keychains & extra magnets.

Oh yeah ! Let's not forget that I'm paying $32 LESS per month.

The name Simpli says it all. It was extremely simply to order my custom system and just as simple to install it. Even simpler to adjust settings. Recently when my wife and I returned home, there were 3 police cars in front of the house. Thankfully it was only our grandson who forgot about the alarm system. I also accidently set it off and received a call before I even realized what I had done.
This is a well made reliable system that is actually affordable for the average person.

Out of a rating 1 to 10. I give it a 9.99 because... Well give me time, I'll think of a reason what it's not a 10.
