So far a bit disappointed with the system and customer service availability
I just got my alarm system today after signing up for the 21 day free trial period and had very high expectations after seeing all the positive reviews. So far I'm a bit disappointed. The good thing is that it's very system to setup as advertised. However, it seems like the motion sensors don't work very well. I have four motion sensors in my package and it states that it can detect up to 30 feet. However, it seems like it's more like 2 feet. I did like 20 test with my motion detectors and was disappointed that I can walk straight into the motion without triggering it until about when I'm less than 5 feet away from the sensor before it would detect me (Yes I did push the button on the bottom of the sensor) . I've followed the instructions that were provided and don't think I've done anything wrong. I want to call tech support for help troubleshooting but that's my other issue that I have with Simplisafe. They are only available until 6pm EST time M-F which is 3pm PST time. However, for the west coast folks like me that work full time at a normal 8-5 job, it's a problem. The only time I get to play with my system and can troubleshoot is either after work or on weekends. ( It's not very convenient for me to wake up at 5am to troubleshoot my alarm system). I'd like to see the support hours be available if not 24/7, at least more reasonable and convenient time for west coast folks like until 6pm PST time like it is for East Coast customers and also available during weekends in case we have problems. Well I'll give it a try for a couple of more days to see if it gets any better before I decide to send it back. That's so far my experience....

Always sorry to hear about any disappointment with the initial set up, but I'm sure we can get it straightened out for you. There are a couple things to keep in mind when testing a Motion Sensor:
I understand that it can be frustrating to not be able to reach customer support after hours, but we do provide email support and are looking to expand our phone support to weekend coverage in the future. Please keep in mind that we only provide US-based customer support from well-trained reps who can really help you, not just offer scripted responses... and we don't plan on changing that!
