Try Traveler's Insurance. Very affordable. Most renter's policies are $15-$30 a month, depending on the type of coverage you want for your apartment property and valuables. Good luck!

I use Chubb, which is quite expensive but considered top notch for insurance. I'm not sure I'd recommend it for you, unless you have expensive jewelry or art to insure... or maybe if you want good personal liability protection. If you're just looking for standard renters insurance at a good price, Travelers or State Farm is probably a good place to start, and will probably cost you half as much as Chubb would.

Thanks for the recs... I'll check them out tomorrow. I'm probably more in the "student-on-a-budget" camp than the "gold-platted" camp right now... ;)

Okay, I went with Travelers. I got pretty basic coverage, and FYI for anyone else looking into this, they did give me a discount for having an alarm. Not sure how much, but the total came to a little less than $16 per month, which fit my budget just fine.
