What happens if the antenna/sirene is smashed before the alarm goes off
I just bought a unit and I am trying to find the best setting/location for my new system and I came out with a few questions.
1. I would like to know what it would happen in the case where a burglar enters in the house and before the alarm goes off he smashed the antenna/siren unit, would the alarm signal still be dispatched to the Monitoring center or since the Antenna has been damaged no dispatch signal could reach the station?
2. Would it be possible to have a corner anchor system for the motion sensors since by attaching the motion sensor close to a corner and facing either one of the two walls reduces the monitoring radius of the sensor and it seems to me that it would be better to put the sensor right at the corner?
3. It seems to me that the remote control can bypass the system without the need of entering any PIN. If there is an intruder in the house and he can have access to the remote control before the typical 30-45 seconds where the alarm doesn’t go off he would be able to disable the alarm by just pushing the button OFF. Is there a fix/work around for that? Or the only solution is to basically completely hide the remote controls?
4. Would you guys suggest putting the antenna/siren unit in a visible location or should it be hidden?
Thanks a lot

Hi Mauro, Good questions! 1)
Hi Mauro,
Good questions!
1) SimpliSafe is designed to protect against the very scenario you describe. When an alarm is triggered, there is a 30 second entry delay by default (you can adjust the timing if you like). During this entry delay, the Keypad will beep, but the Base Station does not make any noise and the blue light around the base is off, so that it does not attract any attention. After the entry delay is completed, the siren will sound from the Base Station, but at that point the signal should have already been sent, so even if it were destroyed by an intruder, the dispatch center would still be notified. To make it even more difficult for an intruder to find the Base Station, you could consider tucking it in a corner or placing it in a location where it isn't immediately visible
2) Yes, the Motion Sensor is designed so that it can be placed in a corner where two walls join. You may notice that there are two extra slots for the adhesive tape on each side of the Motion Sensor. Simply add two pieces of tape to those slots (using the extra adhesive tape included in your original SimpliSafe kit). You can then mount your Motion Sensor in the corner.
3) If you do not want to use the Keychain Remote and are concerned that someone could find it and disable your alarm, you can remove the Keychain Remote from your system following the instructions in the SimpliSafe manual. Once removed, Keychain Remotes cannot be used to turn off your alarm.
4) In most cases it is not necessary to truly hide the Base Station, since it does not make any noise or light once a sensor is triggered. It can be a good idea to make sure it is not immediately visible, but normally placing it on a shelf or in the corner of a room achieves this. To be on the safe side, you could put it behind something so there is no indication of where it is until the dispatch signal has been sent.
Hope that helps!

Could you describe what would
Could you describe what would happen if someone destroyed the base station (Cell chip) during that 30 second period? In a small apartment it is sometimes tough to completely hide it. Is there something put in motion as soon as the sensor is tripped. Would dispatch be notified that the sensor was tripped, but then lost contact with base station?
@liamcross23 There is no
@liamcross23
There is no signal sent when a sensor is tripped, only right before the alarm sounds. If you believe the 30 second time period is too long for your space, you can always change it. The entry delay period can be set for anywhere from 1-250 seconds.

As a customer and an industrial designer: one way to simply make the system near perfect, would be to add a 'mercury tilt switch' in the base station.....thus any attempt to move/destroy the base station during the 30 second delay would immediately send the cellular signal.
My idea will become more relevant to Simplisafe as more and more people begin using this system and thieves will always be "rushing for the cone" when they enter a home with Simplisafe yard sign.
It is a genius product though, and I feel more secure knowing that I have it!
My motion detector does not
My motion detector does not detect the object within 10 feet away, is it still good ? When I do test mode, it seems like motion detector does not respond ? Can I return only the motion detector to SimpliSafe ?
One more ? is the magnet of a sensor almost fell off due to the clue on the magnet does not stick very well, should I use crazy clue to fix it ?
Thanks

Falling Magnets...
I have read a few posts where people were complaining about magnetic sticky tape failing to hold magnets on windows. Immediately after installing my system, I went to each window with an entry sensor and used a small amount of 5 min. Epoxy to secure the magnet to the window frame. Be sure to not over-do-it; you will want to be able to remove each sensor in the event of a move. I merely added a small bead of epoxy to one side and top of the bar magnet. I think some silicone bath caulking would do the same trick. I would even do this trick to mounting plates where motion sensors come in contact with corners. Personally, I ran a long deck screw through the center of the motion senor plate and into the corner wall studs to secure my motion sensors. By slightly over-driving the screw into the wall, thus barely bending the plastic plate due to a void in the corner, my motion sensors can now sit upside-down without falling off their bracket hooks. I mounted my motion sensors this way to avoid doggy false alarms.
