  • What if I am having trouble with my SimpliSafe system?

    If you are having trouble with your SimpliSafe security system, quite often problems can be cleared with a Base Station reboot. Simply unplug the power cord to your Base Station and, while unplugged, remove a battery (you'll need a screwdriver to get to the battery compartment). Wait a few seconds, and then put the battery back in and plug in the power cord - the Base Station will then come back on. If you continue to have trouble, please call us at 800-548-9508, we are happy to help.

  • Do SimpliSafe Original sensors work with the new SimpliSafe system?

    The new SimpliSafe system features a complete redesign of all of the sensors and are only compatible with the new system. We will continue to support and sell SimpliSafe Original sensors.

  • How do I connect the new SimpliSafe System to WiFi?

    Your New SimpliSafe system can easily be connected to WiFi by using your Keypad and following these steps;

    1. If armed, please disarm your system.
    2. Press the Menu key and enter your Master PIN.
    3. Using the Keypad's right rocker switch select System Settings
    4. Select Wifi using the right rocker switch
    5. The Keypad will begin to search for nearby networks if it has not been previously connected to one.
    6. Highlight your network using the up and down rocker switches and once highlighted us the right switch to select it.
    7. Using the number pad on your keypad enter your WiFi Network password. If successful the keypad will display "Connected to....(Network Name)"
    8. Press Menu to return to exit out of the menu.

  • What is the Setup and Naming mode on my Keypad?

    The Setup and Naming mode in your Keypad's menu puts the Base Station into a pairing mode, that allows you to add multiple sensors to your system at once, without needing to select the sensor type first. This is useful if you have purchased new sensors to expand your system.

  • How do I buy the Emergency Dispatch Service? Are there any contracts or minimum commitments?

    It's easy to activate your Emergency Dispatch Service. You can click here to activate (you will need the Serial # located on the bottom of your Base Station) or call us directly at 800-548-9508.

    You can pay for the service each month by charging it to your credit or debit card.

    There are no long term commitments and you can cancel monitoring service at anytime for a refund on any unused service.

  • Can I use SimpliSafe without activating the SimpliSafe Emergency Dispatch Service?
    Yes, but we don’t recommend it. Without the Emergency Dispatch Service, only the burglar alarm siren will sound and no authorities will be called. The SimpliSafe Emergency Dispatch Service is easy to set up, can be charged to your credit or debit card, and canceled at any time.
  • Can I get a discount on my homeowner's or renter's insurance if I have SimpliSafe?

    Yes, most insurance carriers will provide you with a discount (typically 5-20%) for having a monitored do-it-yourself security system like SimpliSafe. To be eligible for this discount, you must be subscribed to the Emergency Dispatch Service.

    We can provide you with a certificate to show your insurance agent, stating that we are monitoring your home or business.

  • How much does SimpliSafe cost?
    Visit our shop for details on the packages and custom systems that we offer. Wireless Security Systems start around $200 and Emergency Dispatch Service is just $14.99 per month.
  • How do I order additional components for my System?

    The additional DIY Security System components that you can order are: Keychain Remote, Extra Keypad, Motion Sensor, Entry Sensor, Panic Button, Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide Detector, Glassbreak Sensor, Water Sensor, and Freeze Sensor. Cameras will be available in the future. You can have up to 41 total components programmed into your system (note: the Base Station and additional Sirens are not considered components).

  • Do I need to have a computer or a wireless Internet connection to use SimpliSafe?
    No. Everything you need to set up the SimpliSafe Home Security System is included. If you do have access to a computer, you will have access to additional features and settings, but it is not required. Just plug your Keychain Remote (which has a built in USB device) into a USB port of your computer and the SimpliSafe Easy Setup Wizard will launch and guide you through setting up and using your home security system.
