Which Battery Type?

Can we get a sticky with what battery is used for each sensor? And any other steps to follow after replacement.

Also, maybe a link to a good retailer where we could order them online? Sorry if I missed it posted somewhere else. I did a quick search but couldnt find it and I always misplace the paperwork that came with the system.

In Development

One of our customers recently noted that he'd like a sticky forum with development status updates... so here you go!

We're planning on releasing camera systems in September of this year.

Tentative Camera System Updates:

1) They will be IP cameras. You'll need to use local WiFi or wired in broadband to connect your cameras.
2) They will require AC power
3) There will be a 24/7 feed on your customer account

The camera systems will require a service plan upgrade.

Auxiliary Siren

The new auxiliary siren is great! Having a large 2 story house I was concerned that someone breaking in on the lower level might not hear the original siren. There is no missing the new auxiliary siren! I ordered 2 of them, one for the lower lever and one for outside so the neighbors will hear it if I am away. Installation was easy, just the press of a button and enter your pin 3 times. I have had SimpliSafe for the past 1-1/2 years and couldn't be happier with the whole system!

Over a year with the system and still love it.

To anybody who is on the fence: this system is worth it. I have owned the system for over a year now with no complaints. A major question typically involves the battery life of the components. After fourteen months I finally had to replace the four AA batteries in the keypad. That is it. I have tested the sensors on numerous occasions and my domicile is locked down like Fort Knox. I have had no issues with radio interference etc. that affects some wireless systems.

Great system!!!

I lived in a large house and had ADT for 8 years. My family and I recently relocated out of state and are now in a townhouse for the time being. I did my homework and searched high and low for a good alarm system and my sister in law had recently purchased Simplisafe. I am a huge techy and went to her place to see it and kept looking for a flaw but could never find one! I recently purchased the system for our place and it is an awesome system! I no longer have a home phone (who needs one anymore with cell phones!!) plus we use magicjack.

Can we view a log?

With either the new or old system, is it possibly to view a log of activity?

We have dog walkers that I started realizing were not showing up, or only taking the dog for a third of the time we paid for. Once, they came while we were still home sleeping, and we had no idea till we realized the dog was gone! It would be very nice to use the software or the web site to pull up all the times a particular entry sensor was activated over the past few days, even if the system is unarmed.

SimpliSafe stopped crime wave!

Last March our beach house was broken into and two large flat screen televisions were stolen. Luckily the Police noticed our back door swinging open the next day and called me to tell me about the break in. Luckily nothing else in the house was taken or destroyed, but it showed me we needed an alarm system.

Keychain remote

Although the system I have installed is the best and works great, I can't say the same for the remote key chain device that this company's offers.
It's long and obtrusive and on several occasions the USB cap has fallen off, which I have to send for a replacement cap each time. (Bad design)

Also the battery cover also keeps coming off too and gets lost during the process of hanging off your key chain.

Now, my remote has completely came off the key chain and is lost forever. I attribute this to its bad design.

SimpliSafe - promise less and deliver more, not the other way around!

Promise less, deliver more, SimpliSafe! As senior manager in a Fortune 500 company, I've done well for myself, my group and my business customers using this service oriented mentality. A promise of three months for a feature and delivery of said feature in two is completely different from and is MUCH better for your reputation than same time delivery on a promise of one month. You have a great product here with a lot of potential and great customer support, why stain it with such poor record of promises not kept??
