Which Battery Type?

Can we get a sticky with what battery is used for each sensor? And any other steps to follow after replacement.

Also, maybe a link to a good retailer where we could order them online? Sorry if I missed it posted somewhere else. I did a quick search but couldnt find it and I always misplace the paperwork that came with the system.

Auxiliary Siren

The new auxiliary siren is great! Having a large 2 story house I was concerned that someone breaking in on the lower level might not hear the original siren. There is no missing the new auxiliary siren! I ordered 2 of them, one for the lower lever and one for outside so the neighbors will hear it if I am away. Installation was easy, just the press of a button and enter your pin 3 times. I have had SimpliSafe for the past 1-1/2 years and couldn't be happier with the whole system!

Over a year with the system and still love it.

To anybody who is on the fence: this system is worth it. I have owned the system for over a year now with no complaints. A major question typically involves the battery life of the components. After fourteen months I finally had to replace the four AA batteries in the keypad. That is it. I have tested the sensors on numerous occasions and my domicile is locked down like Fort Knox. I have had no issues with radio interference etc. that affects some wireless systems.

In Development

[Admin Note: The information in this thread is out-dated. For up to date information on the SimpliSafe2 and our new features please visit our Blog]

One of our customers recently noted that he'd like a sticky forum with development status updates... so here you go!

We're planning on releasing camera systems in September of this year.

Tentative Camera System Updates:

1) They will be IP cameras. You'll need to use local WiFi or wired in broadband to connect your cameras.
2) They will require AC power

Great system!!!

I lived in a large house and had ADT for 8 years. My family and I recently relocated out of state and are now in a townhouse for the time being. I did my homework and searched high and low for a good alarm system and my sister in law had recently purchased Simplisafe. I am a huge techy and went to her place to see it and kept looking for a flaw but could never find one! I recently purchased the system for our place and it is an awesome system! I no longer have a home phone (who needs one anymore with cell phones!!) plus we use magicjack.

Suggestions for OnLine Command and Others

SS2 is a great system now that the new cell module is installed. Here are some suggestions to make it even better:

Online Command:
-Allow Instant trigger settings to be separate and different for home and away modes
-For contacts, please allow the entry of both a landline and cell phone number
-Allow for multiple safe words, the master and a secondary for other users.

Motion Sensor
-Small light to indicate when it picks up movement

Customer Service
-24x7 or at least 7 days a week 9-6

Range Extender

I currently have SimpliSafe 1 base station, a keypad, a handful of motion and entry sensors. One of my motion sensors keeps going out of range. Is there any plans in the works for a "range extender" unit for Simplisafe 1 or 2?

Would it be possible to transform a Simplisafe 1 base station into a dumb repeater with a possible update? Like, blindly echo all simplisafe signals it hears?

Annoying NO LINK TO DISPATCHER warning...

How can I stop the NO LINK TO DISPATCHER warning in both the Base voice and Keypad digital readout?

I'm NOT interested in a dispatching service...I just bought the SimpliSafe to sound off with the alarm/siren.

Burglars would hear and read the NO LINK TO DISPATCHER warning...IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE...it's ANNOYING...it's like you guys hassling me to get a dispatching service...I don't want one...it's really frustrating me to no end.

All in all...I really dig the alarm system...but that warning is really bothersome.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Hector Z.

Iphone, Android App

New online dashboard works great for monitoring and changing alarm settings but I would love an android app to use from my smart phone and or tablet. Any plans?
