We were troubleshooting a phone-line back up this last month and it wasn't going well. The subscriber was connected through the GSM connection, but we wanted to be completely sure his phone-line backup would carry the signal if it was needed to be used as a backup.

Over thirty minutes we tested everything and still were unable to get the connections through. We reset the DSL filter, the system components, checked the lines for dial-tone. Nothing seemed to be working.

And finally, success! It turns out the subscriber had input '1-1' to get an outside line, rather than the single 1 we use every day.

More recently a long-time subscriber who has since discontinued his monitoring but took the alarm to use locally in his new assisted living home needed some support for a contact sensor. His sensor had been reporting an error sporadically for a couple of days and he needed a resolution fast.

Upon opening the sensor we found the error. The new humid climate and old battery in the sensor were causing corrosion on the contact. We were able to remove and replace the battery, and clean the contact thoroughly. With the new battery and cleaned terminals the sensor continued to function as it should.
