Disable Monitoring / Blinking Light

Dear SimpliSafe,
I just want to let you know that your tech, Liza #173, was of the greatest assistance to me. After 3 or 4 days of calling you and speaking with numerous different techs, only Liza was able to fix my base station blinking light / "No link to dispatch" issue. After walking me through various steps (which didn't work) she sent me the download to "disable monitoring". No other tech even offered this solution. My base station is now working as a stand-alone (no dispatch) unit with no error messages nor blinking light. Kudos to Liza!!! Thank you Liza!!!

Glad to hear that Liza was able to help!

The blinking light appears whenever there's a warning on the Keypad for your SimpliSafe Original system - in this case the Base Station is looking for Monitoring Service, but it sounds like you had opted not to subscribe.

The "download to Disable Monitoring" process essentially turns off that searching behavior. That way, you'll still see the blinking light for other warnings (such as sensor errors or recent alarms), but not for "No Link to Dispatch".

If you ever decide to activate monitoring (or reactivate, if you had it previously), please do give us a call! We'll need to go through the same process again to reverse the setting.

And for anyone else who is having the same issue - that is, the "No Link to Dispatch" warning when you don't want monitoring service, please email customer-support@simplisafe.com with your Base Station serial number. Our agents can set up the download or you and send you instructions on how to apply it to your system.
