SimpliSafe's new Active Guard Outdoor Protection introduces a revolutionary double-layer approach to business security. It combines the power of artificial intelligence (AI) technology with a team of expert monitoring professionals to help prevent crime before it happens. This service extends our advanced technology to the exterior of your property.

Now, when your system is armed after hours when your business is closed, and motion is detected outside, agents can act to deter crimes in progress. They can see and speak directly to potential intruders in real time using the live feed and 2-way audio, and trigger camera sirens — all while capturing video evidence of what's happening.

SimpliSafe® Active Guard Outdoor Protection is available on Pro Business and Pro Plus Business monitoring plans only and supports up to 3 Outdoor Cameras from the 10 camera limit. Outdoor Cameras must be plugged in with the included power cable.

Monitoring agents will attempt to contact your business first via Alarm Text and phone call. If you’ve set off the alarm by mistake, you can easily cancel via the app, Alarm Text, or by giving our agent your safe word over the phone prior to our agents requesting emergency dispatch. If your designated contacts can’t be reached during an alarm, agents will process the alarm as a real emergency, contacting 911 centers to request police dispatch. With select professionally monitored plans, our agents can verify threats using video evidence, which can mean priority dispatch and faster police response.*

We are committed to protecting your business's privacy and sensitive data as vigilantly as we protect your property. SimpliSafe provides features that give you control over your security system's privacy settings. You have complete control over when live agents monitor your location and which cameras they use. Agents only have access to outdoor enabled cameras during a motion event that occurs during your subscription service hours when your system is armed. And indoors, agents only have access to the Smart Alarm Wireless Indoor Camera during an alarm (and only if you’ve enabled the intruder intervention feature). You can also disable audio recordings on SimpliSafe cameras at any time through the Camera Settings menu.

For medical practices, these features are designed to support your privacy efforts. We employ strict physical, technical, and administrative controls to protect the confidentiality and security of information, including requiring our agents to pass extensive background checks and work in secured locations, all of which are practices that can contribute to your broader HIPAA compliance.

When you set up a PIN (up to 10 including 1 master and 9 custom pins), you’ll be able to provide physical access to your location, without allowing an individual to make changes to your SimpliSafe system. You’ll also be able to see which PIN was used to arm, disarm or cancel alarms in the timeline on the SimpliSafe App or SimpliSafe online account.

If you are subscribed to a monitoring plan that includes 24/7 emergency dispatch, the Duress PIN (1 per account) can be used in emergency situations to immediately request the dispatch of police to your location. If the Duress PIN is entered, we do not contact you - we immediately request dispatch to prioritize your safety.

In the event of a smoke alarm, you can enter your PIN on the Keypad to let us know you're safe. If you don’t enter your PIN, SimpliSafe’s standard procedure is to first contact the primary account holder. If we cannot reach you, or you confirm there is an emergency, we will request emergency dispatch services to your location. These steps follow the same protocols we use for residential customers.
