    Does the SimpliSafe® Smart Lock work on any door?
    Smart Lock is compatible with most standard single-cylinder deadbolt locks. These types of deadbolts typically are not attached to the door handle or knob, and have a keyhole on the exterior of the door and a thumb turn on the interior of the door.
    Does my Smart Lock require Wi-Fi or an existing SimpliSafe® system to work?
    Smart Lock requires our latest SimpliSafe® home security system to function. While we recommend always keeping your system connected to Wi-Fi for the best experience, it is not required.
    Can the included PIN Pad disarm my SimpliSafe® system, or does it only control the lock?
    Entering any valid PIN via the PIN Pad will unlock and disarm your system. Entering a Duress PIN will unlock the door and disarm your system, but will also silently alert our monitoring center that you’re in need of police response (with select monitoring plans).
    How do I know if the Smart Lock has a low battery?
    The Smart Lock will display a slow, blinking light and a message will appear on your Keypad. Depending on your settings, you may also be notified in the SimpliSafe® App.
    What happens if the Smart Lock loses power?
    Your Smart Lock will give you low-battery warnings for several weeks before it completely loses power. However, if your Smart Lock loses power before you have an opportunity to replace the batteries, you can still unlock the door manually with your key.
    What happens if I enter my PIN incorrectly on the PIN Pad?
    If you enter your PIN incorrectly by mistake, simply enter your correct PIN again. Starting with the fifth incorrect PIN attempt, your Smart Lock will initiate a number of safety measures to ensure that your home is safe. These include app notifications and lockout periods that get progressively longer with additional incorrect attempts. Any cameras associated with your system will also begin recording. Following the eleventh incorrect attempt, customers with professional monitoring will receive a call from our monitoring center to ensure everything is OK.
